In 2008, “Ip Man” (or “Yip Man” or “Grandmaster Yip Man”, depending on your location or what version you saw), came out internationally. It has not yet been officially released in the box office, but, there are plenty of DVD copies floating around and internet downloads of the movie. There’s even been talk of seeing it in local Red Box dvd movie machines.
The movie shares the story of Ip Man (played by Donnie Yen). The first movie, including the struggles of Japanese occupation . Earlier this year, “Ip Man 2” was released (internationally), focusing on Ip Man’s migration to Hong Kong, where he seeks a new life and begins teaching his art of Wing Chun.

I personally enjoyed seeing the first film myself, and look forward to seeing the sequel. A very likely candidate for future Wing Chun Movie Nights here at Cichon’s Wing Chun!
